The Haunted are a Swedish heavy metal band formed in Gothenburg in 1996 by Anders and Jonas Björler, Peter Dolving, Adrian Erlandsson, and Patrik Jensen, three of whom came from the pioneering melodic death metal band At the Gates. The current lineup features Marco Aro (vocals), Patrik Jensen (rhythm guitar), Ola Englund (lead guitar), Jonas Björler (bass), and Adrian Erlandsson (drums).
Over the years, the band has released numerous acclaimed albums, including The Haunted (1998), Made Me Do It (2000), One Kill Wonder (2003), Revolver (2004), The Dead Eye (2006), Versus (2008), Unseen (2011), Exit Wounds (2014), and Strength in Numbers (2017). Their tenth album, Songs of Last Resort, was released in 2025.
Despite several lineup changes—especially on vocals and drums—The Haunted has remained a cornerstone of Swedish metal, known for their balance of thrash, melodic death, and modern metal elements. The band continues to be active today, working on new material while keeping their legacy alive in the international metal scene.
