Vanguard are a Czech death metal band active since 2015, blending melodic and technical death metal with a variety of genre influences.
The band has released three records: the debut EP I (2015), the full-length II (2019), and their latest album III: Pyrrhic Sequence (2023). They have also produced nine official music and live videos, including clips from III for the tracks Exomorphic Cascade, Decay Succession, and Debridement.
In 2025, Vanguard competed in the national finals of the Wacken Metal Battle Czech Republic at Palác Akropolis in Prague.
With over 200 performances across clubs and festivals in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Austria, and Portugal, Vanguard have played major events such as Master of Rock (2022, 2025) and Czech Death Fest (2023). Over the years, they have also appeared at numerous other festivals, including Death Coffee Party, Mittsommernachte (DE), Nice to Eat You Deathfest, Heathen Strike Over Brno, Fury Over Prague, Burn Fest (SK), Rottent Fest, Apocalyptic Form of Death, Bugrfest, Symbolic Fest, Ostrava Metal Hrad, Hrnem Brnem, Blasphemy Festival (SK), Sádekfest, Agressive Music Fest, Žižkův Vraždící Palcát, Batch Festival, IL Fest, Destroy Fest, and Affection Fest.
